Here's something that bugs me.

Random mom: OHHH you're expecting! That's wonderful!
Krista: Thanks! Yeah, we're pretty excited!
Random mom: Great! So when are you due??
Krista: The middle of May sometime.
Random mom: Awesome-have you heard about BPAs?
Krista: ...actually ye-
Random mom:-well let me tell you about them! They're everywhere! In your baby's bottles, in the crib mattresses! SLOWLY POISIONING YOU BABY to death! .....I use only stainless steel bottles and sippy cups becasue they don't contain any BPAs and you should really look into getting an organic mattress...also, have you heard about the benefits of Babywise! You have to read that book. You NEEEEEEEED to read that book. It'll change your life I swear! I think I might have an extra copy or twelve in my car! Are you getting your child vaccinated?
Krista: yes.
Hitler:..........................oh. *disapproving glare*
Krista: *pleasant smile*
Hitler: Well, let's just pray your child never gets autism then.
Krista: Have you ever heard of the "iron lung?"

I know you mean well. I know that you have been there and done that and have successfully raised BPA-free-all-organic children and therefore have the advantage over little-ol-uninformed me who's never had any children before...but if you'd like me to subscribe to your doper, you might try an approach other than staring at me as though I've just sprouted a second head because I tell you I fully plan on vaccinating my children.

It doesn't even really pay to tell you that I've done lots of research about vaccines and that we're getting a soy foam mattress and that I fully intend on breast feeding and that we're using cloth diapers.....because unless I'm using YOUR particular BRAND of cloth diapers and reading the books you want me to read, I'm still just a silly uninformed twit who will probably wind up giving her autistic children up for adoption and then make a life out of tearing the wings off of butterflies.

If you want me to listen to you...don't launch into a documentary about the evils of the government conspiracy to murder our children with chemicals and vaccines....just talk to me. One mom to another.
